Prologue 02

1987 The Jag

16 year old twins, Hannah and Haylee had been partying half the night in their towns popular club The Jag. Hannah wasn’t much of a ‘party girl’, she was basically the exact opposite of her sister Haylee.

Hannah: I can’t believe you dragged me here.
She said holding back a smile.
Haylee: Oh, you know you’re having fun! it’s good to loosen up sometimes sis..
Hannah: Meh, okay.. but, can we go now? It’s getting kind of late.
Hannah strained her voice in an attempt to drown out the vibe of music that was booming in her ears.
Haylee: Sure.

Hannah stuffed her hand into her pocket hoping to feel the cold metal of her keys.. she groaned and looked at Haylee.

Hannah: Do you have the keys?
Haylee: No.
She cocked a brow.
Hannah sighed.
Hannah: Be right back.. I left them in the club.

Haylee stood alone in the parking lot. The buzzing of the street lights seemed to get louder every second and the wind bristled through the trees giving her a tingle going down her spine, into her thighs and seemed to escape out of her toes.

She tapped her foot Impatiently waiting for Hannah’s return, when she stopped the tapping she heard foot steps behind her which seemed to be heading in her direction.. with a flash she turned around and faced a young boy around her age.

Before she could say anything or practically do anything, the boy had grabed her, she could hardly believe his strength.. it was if he wasn’t human. Without another thought.. The boy had put his mouth on her neck and had bitten down.

He placed her on the concrete and kneeled over her, letting trickles of blood fall and collect on her shirt. He looked up and felt droplets of rain hit his face and glide down his cheek..

He put his hand on his head, taking in the shot of adrenaline he had aquired from his ‘midnight snack’.

He turned his attention to Hannah who had walked out of the club and was running toward him and her sister. He lept up and darted off into a nearby alley.
Hannah: Haylee!
Hannah picked up Haylee, noticing the two suspicious tiny holes in her neck. She placed her in the back of the car.

Hannah paused before turning the car out of the parking lot. In her mind she began debating..
Hospital.. or home..
She looked back to her sister, then back to the foggy road. She quickly turned left.. toward home.
